With these results, the combined total for the first four holidays of the year reaches $289 million, surpassing the totals for 2023 and 2024.
Likewise, more than 663,000 trips were recorded nationwide, 9% more than the previous year, bringing the first four holidays of 2025 to 4.3 million trips across the country.
Travelers mostly visited the provinces of Santa Elena, Galapagos, Pastaza, Azuay, and Napo, demonstrating the diversification of destinations for domestic tourism.
"Salinas had a great and joyful holiday. Tourists were able to enjoy various beach activities and the local cuisine. Hotel and restaurant occupancy was good," said Jorge Veintimilla Celi, manager of the Caridi Chipipe Hotel in the province of Santa Elena.
Tourism Minister Mateo Estrella thanked citizens for continuing to travel around the country and affirmed that the National Government is working tirelessly to promote the tourism industry, which provides employment to more than half a million families in the country and is a generator of development, progress, and national economic revitalization.
