Thanks to its culinary offering for Business Class passengers, Avianca was recognized at the Onboard Hospitality Awards, where it competed against 11 other nominated products in the Best Onboard Menu or Meal category, earning the Highly Commended award. This award, organized by Onboard Hospitality magazine, recognizes excellence and innovation in the onboard experience and is considered one of the highest recognitions in the industry worldwide. This edition took place on April 8, 2025, within the framework of the World Travel Catering & Onboard Expo, in Hamburg, Germany.
The award highlights the quality, presentation, and concept of Avianca's menu, designed by chef Álvaro Clavijo, creator of El Chato—the Bogotá restaurant ranked 25th on The World's 50 Best Restaurants. His offerings are built on carefully selected Colombian ingredients and techniques that elevate flavor to over 36,000 feet. The menu is developed and operated in collaboration with strategic partners, ensuring high standards at every stage: from design and preparation to onboard service.
“Receiving this recognition, such as the Onboard Hospitality Awards, reaffirms our commitment to offering our passengers a distinctive experience that celebrates the best of Colombian and Latin American cuisine. This is a shared achievement between Avianca, Chef Álvaro Clavijo, all the stakeholders involved in bringing this experience to our cabins, and, of course, Colombian culinary heritage, which has been our greatest source of inspiration,” said Katherine Stradaioli, Vice President of Customer Delivery at Avianca.
The renowned menu is available on flights departing from Bogotá to destinations in Europe and Latin America on select routes, from Cali exclusively to Europe, and on flights departing from Spain to Colombia.
