Quintana Roo, Mexico, May 19, 2025 – The first edition of the Mexican Caribbean Music Fest (MCMF) concluded with a resounding success, achieving a sold-out performance at ZAMNA Park, located in the heart of Tulum. More than 20,000 people attended the event, held on Saturday night, with a headlining performance by British musician Sting, one of the most influential figures in contemporary music and winner of 17 Grammy Awards.
The festival was part of the official celebrations for Quintana Roo's 50th anniversary and is positioned as a new commitment to music tourism in the region. In the context of a renewed era for tourism in the Mexican Caribbean, the MCMF is presented as an evolution of the iconic Riviera Maya Jazz Festival. With a renewed offering and a lineup of internationally acclaimed artists, the event highlighted the state's cultural and musical richness, reaffirming Tulum's potential as a destination that combines history, nature, and high-level entertainment.
The musical evening kicked off with a performance by Leonardo Prakash, followed by an energetic performance by Liquits, a band returning to the stage after a hiatus of more than five years. Later, the stage was taken over by Aterciopelados, who brought their signature style and energy, setting the mood for the main performance.
The evening was closed by Sting, who offered a repertoire that included his greatest hits and presented his latest musical offering as part of the STING 3.0 World Tour . With a fusion of jazz, rock, pop, and reggae, the artist captivated the audience amidst the enigmatic natural surroundings of ZAMNA Park, highlighting the destination's unique character.
The Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council, through its General Director, Andrés Martínez, expressed his satisfaction with the results:

Thanks to this festival, we achieved a significant increase in hotel occupancy in Tulum and throughout the Mexican Caribbean. The Mexican Caribbean Music Fest has left a positive impact on both the cultural and tourism sectors, consolidating itself since its first edition as a platform with the potential to become an icon of music tourism internationally, projecting the Mexican Caribbean as a leading destination for high-impact cultural experiences.
