What are the objectives of Wyndham's participation in this event?
We're here to promote our presence in the Caribbean, a key region for Wyndham. We're taking advantage of this edition in Antigua to highlight the recent integration of the Hodges Bay hotel into our brand under the Registry Collection. We're also strengthening our growth in destinations such as Barbados, Aruba, Mexico (especially in the all-inclusive segment), and now Antigua, where we previously had no presence.
How do you perceive demand in the region currently?
The performance is mixed. While demand from the US has moderated, it still represents 65% of our travelers in the Caribbean. Canada and the United Kingdom have shown solid growth. The leisure category remains the main driver in the region.
What new features are you presenting at this edition of the event?
We're very excited about the addition of Hodges Bay in Antigua, which opened last week as part of Wyndham. We also highlight the Wyndham Tulum, which opened this year. These openings strengthen our portfolio in Latin America and solidify our commitment to the Caribbean.
What is the strategy for the rest of Latin America?
We continue to grow at a strong pace in both the leisure and corporate segments. We have opened new hotels in Mexico and are moving forward with projects in Central and South America. Our strategy is to balance leisure and business, always with a focus on sustained expansion.
What are your expectations for the rest of the year?
Although the year started somewhat weakly due to global economic uncertainty, we expect a recovery in the final months. Traditionally, winter in the Northern Hemisphere drives demand toward the Caribbean. People are starting to book early for their winter vacations, seeking warm climates and beach destinations, which boosts our supply.
