How was your experience at this edition of the Caribbean Travel Marketplace?

It's fantastic to be here in Antigua and Barbuda. It's always valuable to reconnect with our partners and have the opportunity to discuss business development. In our case, we're especially excited because we're launching a new summer campaign titled "Caution, you may be left breathless." This event provides us with the ideal space to strengthen relationships and promote this new era for the Cayman Islands.

How has the year started for the Cayman Islands in terms of tourism demand?

The first quarter has been truly historic. We've posted record numbers, on pace for our best year to date. In January, February, and March, we saw consistent year-over-year growth, which has us very excited about the results April may bring. It's certainly been an excellent start to the year.

What's new in terms of air connectivity?

We're strengthening our air connectivity for the fourth quarter of 2025. We just announced a new direct route from New York's JFK Airport with Delta Airlines. Additionally, capacity has been increased from Chicago with United and American, as well as from Dulles, also with United. We recently relaunched service from Detroit with Delta, further expanding our access options to the destination.

What is the new summer campaign you are promoting?

The campaign offers a free seven-night stay, based on the concept that the ideal length for a truly restorative vacation is eight days. We base this on recent research and want to encourage travelers to take the time they need for a meaningful experience. Therefore, we are encouraging them to use their personal vacation days and enjoy a full and transformative stay in the Cayman Islands.

What are your expectations for the rest of the year and beyond, even looking ahead to 2026?

Like everyone in the industry, we are closely monitoring global developments. The international landscape presents multiple challenges, and in tourism, we must always be prepared to adapt. Despite this, the excellent start to 2025 provides us with a solid foundation to face whatever comes next. We continue to adjust our strategy as needed to address any economic eventualities that may arise.
