With the growing interest in celebrating weddings outside of their home countries, Latin American destinations are positioning themselves among the most attractive and competitive worldwide. According to the most recent Destination Wedding Value Index compiled by the specialized platform Destify , countries such as Mexico, Costa Rica, and Brazil offer an unparalleled combination of infrastructure, affordable prices, natural surroundings, and air connectivity.
Mexico: undisputed leader in value and supply
Mexico tops the global ranking with a perfect score of 10/10, thanks to its wide range of venues, competitive prices, and good connectivity with the United States. With 382 wedding venues—the most in the top 10—and an average wedding price of $4,261, Mexico offers a solid offering for both intimate weddings and large celebrations. Additionally, the average venue capacity reaches 147 guests, far surpassing other destinations.
Costa Rica: superior quality in natural settings
Costa Rica ranks third in the index, standing out for having the best hotel rating (8.66/10) of all the destinations evaluated. Although it offers more limited wedding venue availability (43 in total), its natural setting, moderate prices, and good air connectivity consolidate it as an ideal destination for those seeking a wedding surrounded by nature and quality service.
Brazil: great capacity and diversity of options
Brazil ranks sixth with an index of 7.21/10, standing out for its high average capacity of 155 guests per venue and a considerable offering of 187 wedding venues. Although the average venue price is higher compared to other Latin American destinations, the diversity of regions and landscapes—from paradisiacal beaches to urban and rural settings—make it a versatile option for large-scale weddings.
An opportunity for regional tourism
The rise of wedding tourism represents a significant opportunity for Latin American destinations with robust tourism infrastructure, air connectivity, and increasingly professional local suppliers. In addition to generating direct revenue, these celebrations often generate longer stays, increased consumption, and group visits, expanding their economic impact in the region.
Wedding tourism is thus consolidating as a strategic segment in the recovery and diversification of the tourism sector, and Latin America has all the elements to lead this global trend.
