What does it mean for Medellín to be present at FIEXPO and, furthermore, to be announced as the host of the next ICCA event for the Americas?
Being at FIEXPO is very important for us because it's one of the largest platforms in Latin America for attracting conferences and events to our city. Medellín has established itself in the MICE industry, and we want to continue strengthening that path. This space allows us to showcase who we are as a city, what we offer as a destination, and continue to captivate our visitors. Hosting the next ICCA event for the Americas is a great recognition of all the collaborative work we've been doing at the Mayor's Office and the Bureau. It confirms our status as a regional benchmark and fills us with joy.
In terms of international promotion, how are you currently positioning Medellín?
We are working in a highly coordinated manner. Since the creation of the Ministry of Tourism, we have managed to consolidate a clear strategy that demonstrates Medellín's desire to be a global player. Furthermore, we have the support of many important figures around the world who help us raise awareness of the city.
Are you referring to the artists?
Yes, to artists, actors, musicians… Medellín has a very powerful cultural platform. I always say that Medellín is a work of art in itself. We have role models like Karol G, J Balvin, and other artists who, without intending to, also promote the city with their talent and international reach.
