Undersecretary, what are Chile's expectations and objectives for participating in this edition of FIEXPO Latin America?
Our aim with our participation and this great stand at FIEXPO is to continue strengthening the work we've been doing to position Chile as a destination for events and conferences.
Before arriving at the event, we received some great news: Santiago was recognized as the third most important city in the Americas for conferences, behind only Montreal and Buenos Aires. Chile also ranks third among conference hosts in the region.
This fills us with pride because it reflects two key factors. First, our infrastructure and logistical capacity, with high-level ground, air, and digital connectivity. And second, our sustainable tourism offering, which seeks to attract visitors who value experiences with purpose and legacy.
How is this capacity expressed in different regions of the country?
We want to demonstrate that Chile has the potential to host conferences not only in Santiago, but throughout the country. A concrete example is the International Adventure Tourism Conference, which this year will be held in Puerto Natales, in Chilean Patagonia.
It's one of the southernmost regions in the world, yet it will host nearly 800 delegates in a unique natural setting, with infrastructure adapted to the challenge. This is proof that the country is prepared to host events in extreme conditions, without sacrificing quality or sustainability.
