Fort Lauderdale, Florida – June 16, 2025 – Starting in November, MSC Cruises will begin operating from the Port of Galveston, Texas, with the addition of MSC Seascape. This new era will be marked by the debut of ROBOTRON, the first robotic arm ride at sea, an innovation that sets a new standard in maritime entertainment.
The attraction, located nearly 53 meters above sea level, offers a dynamic ride with twists, turns, and panoramic views. The three-person gondola moves in multiple directions, including complete inversions, and allows riders to customize music, visual effects, and intensity levels, creating a multi-sensory experience tailored to each preference.
According to Lynn Torrent, president of MSC Cruises North America, this addition represents a step forward in the line's value proposition:
“ROBOTRON is an exciting experience like no other, and we know it will be a sensation in Texas. Onboard MSC Seascape, guests will discover that ROBOTRON combines cutting-edge technology with breathtaking ocean views. Texans love great adventures, and MSC Seascape delivers.”
MSC Seascape will sail from a new, state-of-the-art terminal currently under construction and offer 7-night itineraries in the Western Caribbean, calling at Costa Maya and Cozumel (Mexico) and Roatán (Honduras).
In addition to ROBOTRON, the ship features a range of state-of-the-art attractions, including: 360° VR Flight Simulator, with virtual reality headsets and special effects for total immersion. VR Motorcycles, recreating races with wind and water effects. MSC Formula Racer, a high-speed driving simulator. XD Immersive Cinema, an interactive experience with virtual sets and player competition.
The arrival of MSC Seascape in Texas reinforces MSC Cruises' expansion into the U.S. market, integrating modern infrastructure, cutting-edge entertainment, and unique offerings for the regional audience.
