Miches, Dominican Republic – June 16, 2025 – With the presence of the President of the Dominican Republic and representatives of national and local authorities, Viva Resorts by Wyndham officially opened Viva Miches by Wyndham, a new beachfront resort on the idyllic Playa Esmeralda. This opening marks a new chapter in the country's tourism expansion and strengthens Miches' position as a strategic destination in the eastern region.
During the ceremony, Ettore Colussi, founder and president of the chain, highlighted the company's long-standing commitment to the Dominican Republic, where it began its journey 38 years ago. He emphasized that the new project represents both a continuation of Viva Resorts by Wyndham's pioneering spirit and a firm commitment to the development of Miches, as it is the brand's sixth establishment in the country.
With an initial investment of $80 million, Viva Miches by Wyndham begins operations with 538 rooms, five world-class restaurants, multiple entertainment areas, and all-inclusive services. The second phase of the project includes an expansion to 750 rooms, bringing the total investment to $130 million.
The resort was designed by Simples Arquitectura and meets criteria of sustainability and integration with the natural environment. The project is part of a territorial transformation process supported by improvements in public infrastructure, which strengthens connectivity and consolidates the municipality's tourism development.
The new establishment is part of the Wyndham Green program, aligned with sustainability practices such as energy efficiency, rational water use, plastic reduction, and the progressive incorporation of renewable energy.
In addition, the company maintains active ties with the local community through Promiches, a public-private partnership that promotes the destination's sustainable development. Notable initiatives include strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem of artisans, preserving the environment through access maintenance, and participating in environmental protection initiatives such as Protortuga, which focuses on protecting sea turtles.
The resort also offers unique entertainment through Viva Vibe, a program of activities that includes themed outdoor parties, such as beach parties, neon parties, and DJ nights, designed for different audiences.
In his closing remarks, Ettore Colussi expressed that Viva Miches by Wyndham symbolizes a new tourist paradise where hospitality, sustainability, and a high-value experience converge in one of the Dominican Republic's most outstanding natural enclaves.
With this opening, Viva Resorts by Wyndham strengthens its leadership in the sector, focusing on an all-inclusive offering that combines operational excellence, local identity, and a long-term sustainable tourism proposal.
