Madrid, June 18, 2025 – Iberia has presented its new strategic plan, Flight Plan 2030 , which outlines the airline's roadmap for the coming years with a planned investment of €6 billion. The plan's main objective is to achieve annual profitability of between 13.5% and 15%, driving ambitious operational and social growth.

In terms of expansion, the company plans to increase its long-haul fleet from 45 to 70 aircraft, thus contributing to the consolidation of Barajas Airport as a global hub comparable to major European airports. To this end, new A350, A321XLR, and potentially A330NEO aircraft will be added as part of an order placed by the IAG group.

The renewal will also extend to the short- and medium-haul fleet, with the gradual replacement of older models with A320 and A321 NEO aircraft, which are more fuel-efficient and offer lower emissions. This measure is part of Iberia's commitment to net-zero emissions by 2050.

The 2030 Flight Plan also prioritizes improving the customer experience through a complete renovation of long-haul cabins, new digital features powered by artificial intelligence, and increased in-cabin storage capacity. The opening of a new Premium Lounge in Terminal 4 of Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is planned, in addition to improvements to ground services.

Among the international destinations that will soon be added to Iberia's network are Toronto, Philadelphia, and Monterrey, in addition to the recently announced Recife, Fortaleza, and Orlando.

Another notable initiative of the plan is the creation of the new Ciudad Iberia in La Muñoza, which will house the corporate headquarters and a state-of-the-art aeronautical innovation center.

On the social and employment front, Iberia plans to hire approximately 1,000 people per year, with a goal of generating up to 250,000 direct, indirect, and induced jobs. The company is estimated to contribute €19 billion annually to national GDP, a 42% increase over its current impact.

Finally, as part of its commitment to sustainable development and coinciding with the airline's centenary in 2027, the Iberia Foundation will be launched. This entity will focus on enhancing the company's positive impact on society and the territories where it operates.

Iberia's President and CEO, Marco Sansavini, stated that the new plan "is the result of a profound transformation and the collective effort of the entire organization," and emphasized that "the anticipated growth will allow Spain to continue connecting with the world in an efficient, sustainable, and competitive manner."
