Barbados, renowned for its welcoming spirit and thriving tourism industry, kicks off today Connect Barbados 2025, the highly anticipated B2B business forum organized by Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI). After a hiatus since 2019, the four-day event returns to the luxurious Wyndham Grand Barbados Resort, Sam Lord's Castle, bringing together tour operators, travel agencies, specialized media, and local suppliers from around the world, including representatives from Latin America.

The event's objective is clear: to foster new business relationships, foster strategic alliances, and showcase the best of Barbadian tourism to the world. Through one-on-one business sessions, networking activities, and cultural experiences, attendees will have the opportunity to generate valuable contacts with accommodation providers, experience operators, attractions, and representatives from the public and private sectors.

One of the highlights will be the return of the Connect Barbados Awards, which haven't been held since 2019. This ceremony will recognize the international trade and media partners who have contributed most to promoting the destination in recent years.

The 2025 edition also incorporates a strong cultural and culinary influence. Under the theme "From Street to Chic: A Gastronomic Journey Awaits," culinary experiences will range from traditional food trucks and rum shops to haute cuisine. This diversity reflects the authentic soul of Barbados, integrating local flavors with a modern and appealing presentation for international visitors.

Andrea Franklin, CEO of BTMI, expressed that the return of Connect Barbados marks a milestone for the island and for the global tourism community, which continues to invest in this destination. She highlighted the event's importance as a strategic platform to promote sustainable growth, open new business opportunities, and strengthen Barbados' position in the global tourism market.

For the Latin American market, participation in Connect Barbados is especially important. The island has experienced sustained growth in visitor arrivals from the region, leveraged by improved air connectivity, such as Copa Airlines' weekly flights from Panama. This makes Barbados an increasingly attractive option for travel professionals and the MICE segment in Latin America.

Connect Barbados 2025 not only marks the return of one of the most important events for the Caribbean tourism trade, but also with a renewed offering that merges business, culture, and hospitality in one place. A key opportunity to reconnect with a rapidly evolving destination.
