The unstoppable adoption of 3D technology will change how users browse the internet. With Mirai, you can rest assured that we're ready.
3D is becoming more democratic and Google, Apple, Uber and Ticketmaster are now offering it.
Google and Apple are among the few companies that can reproduce the entire world in "real" three dimensions. In both companies' maps apps, you can now find 3D destinations, allowing you to navigate natively in this incredible and innovative third dimension (depth).
But more and more apps are incorporating 3D features, differentiating their direct channels and providing unique experiences for their customers. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Uber, Amazon, and Ticketmaster are just a few examples.
Mirai engine incorporates native 3D view
Seeing the rise of 3D, at Mirai we couldn't stay behind, and we've decided to evolve and integrate our Mirai Twin solution into the new booking engine , becoming the world's first native 3D booking engine.
The booking process is no longer a simple transaction, but an immersive experience that emotionally connects the guest with the hotel. In a world saturated with flat, similar images, standing out isn't an option; it's a necessity.
What does 3D bring to the table when booking a hotel?
It answers many questions for guests that wouldn't otherwise be possible: How close is the hotel to the beach or the city center? Or can you really see the cathedral from the rooms?
When choosing one room type or another, any additional information helps justify paying more for higher-category rooms.
Do the Premium rooms have ocean or city views? Are the Junior Suites on the top floor, as I prefer? How far are the Family Rooms from the pool?
3D provides transparency and security for your guests when making a decision and contextualizes the price of each room type.
You can find some examples at:
Hotel VP Plaza de España Madrid
Hotel Lamaro (formerly Colón) Barcelona
Hotel Casa Malca Tulum
With the 3D experience we've incorporated into the booking engine, your guests can freely navigate the hotel's exterior in three dimensions and easily answer all these questions. Some of the most significant features of our 3D booking engine include:
Booking by room type, not by room number. Don't panic! It's not a system for choosing a specific room number (517, for example), but rather a separate feature for choosing one room type over another (for example, Superior over Standard).
100% native. Not a third-party add-on. Our 3D is fully developed in-house and is already part of the many features of your booking engine.
Fluid experience. As this is our proprietary technology, we've maintained the same usability, typography, content (photos, text, prices, currency, taxes), and experience as the classic booking engine view.
Google Maps Usability. We use the same usability standards and 3D navigation methods as Google and Apple Maps. Users who are familiar with Google Maps will be able to use your hotel's 3D map in the booking engine.
Dual 3D navigation. Just like Airbnb, we've incorporated a side navigation bar for switching rooms, making it easier for new users to navigate the 3D environment.
Dynamic Filters. We're maintaining this innovative feature of the Mirai engine, allowing your guests to choose the services or facilities they desire, making their final selection easier.
Google Maps 3D or drone 3D: your choice
Much of our R&D team's development over the years has focused on loading and moving 3D volumes in a simple, fast, usable, and fully connected way with the hotel's real-time inventory and pricing. A high level of innovation is at the service of our clients, allowing them to easily integrate it into the booking engine.
When we started, there was no other option than to capture the 3D renderings of the hotels ourselves with our team of pilots and digital architects. That option is still available for most hotels today.
Instead, starting in 2024, Google Maps added 3D to its API , and at Mirai, we quickly took advantage of it, as it gave us many destinations recorded in high-quality 3D.
If this is your case and your property's quality is good, you're in luck! After we set up the room mapping within the 3D model, we'll activate 3D navigation within your hotel's booking engine, and it will be quickly available to all your guests.
3D is just getting started: the best is yet to come
We're in the midst of user adoption of 3D. It's just a matter of time. Once Google or Apple show their maps in 3D by default and users get used to it, a whole new door of opportunity opens. And we're not talking about virtual reality headsets, but immersive experiences where guests can visit your hotel without leaving their homes. Expect significant improvements in everything related to 3D as user adoption grows.
3D opens up a world of opportunities, and having a native 3D solution will give you a competitive advantage over your competitors, as well as OTAs.
Mirai Twin on your website and now on the booking engine
Mirai Twin was born as an app or widget that integrates into your website and allows your guests to navigate your hotel in 3D. Some examples are
Hotel Princess La Palma
Hotel Hesperia Sevilla
Hotel Playa Garden Selection
Twin in its web version
It is designed for guests who are still in the exploratory or initial phase (upper funnel) and, therefore, still deciding whether to book or not.
In addition to rooms, Twin displays hotel amenities and nearby points of interest.
It also incorporates all kinds of visual elements such as videos, virtual tours, Matterport animations, and 360º photos of the rooms.
Allow your guests to see the views they'll enjoy from each room.
Check availability and prices, advance the booking decision, and forward those interested to the booking engine, filtering by the selected room, offering a more natural experience for your guests.
Twin's booking engine version takes all these features one step further in the booking process, providing guests with unique context to make the best decision about which room to stay in.
