The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced the appointment of Herman Schumacher as Co-Chair of the Flight Safety and Operations Committee.

The appointment, which was made based on the outstanding work and career of Mr. Schumacher, who serves as Arajet's Vice President of Safety and Quality Operations, was announced in preparation for the ALTA Aviation Safety, Flight Ops & Training Summit, one of the region's leading safety events.

Each year, during this important event, ALTA formally introduces new leaders who will assume the responsibility of guiding the collaborative work of this technical committee, which aims to identify and mitigate the main risks facing air operations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

ALTA leadership recognized Scumacher as an outstanding aviation industry professional, recognizing his strong track record, exceptional leadership skills, and commitment to developing safer and more modern regional aviation.

ALTA's Flight Safety and Operations Committee is a key forum for the exchange of best practices among airline operators, authorities, and industry experts, with a view to strengthening operational safety, boosting operational efficiency, and fostering a more sustainable industry.

"We firmly believe that diverse knowledge and peer collaboration are essential to adding value to the technical work we do. Therefore, each member who joins the Committee strengthens our shared purpose: to promote a safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible industry," ALTA stated in its official statement.

The Committee meets in person during the annual Summit and holds periodic meetings throughout the year, allowing for ongoing, collaborative work among operational leaders of the region's airline industry.

With this new designation, ALTA renews its commitment to operational excellence, safety, and collaborative work as essential pillars for the development of air transport in Latin America and the Caribbean.
