Buenos Aires, July 3, 2025 - As part of its commitment to sustainability and community, Mercure Iguazú Hotel Iru has launched the "Helping Hands, Happy Paws" project, an initiative aimed at the rescue, care, and adoption of homeless or abused animals.

This project was born in response to a visible problem in the city of Puerto Iguazú: the growing number of abandoned or abused animals. With the goal of providing concrete solutions and generating a positive impact, the hotel has promoted the formation of a team that includes stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as collaborators from the organization itself.

“Helping Hands, Happy Paws” seeks to build a bridge between animals, employees, and guests, promoting responsible adoption as the end result of a process of care and commitment.

The project's actions include:

● Obtaining five appointments for spaying and neutering rescued animals.
● Identifying the animals to be treated, in collaboration with the hotel team and the "Patas a la Obra" organization.
● Grooming and pre-vaccination at the Municipal Zoonosis Department.
● Creating a special space within the hotel for temporary post-operative care.
● Inviting guests to join the project by adopting a rescued pet.

With this type of initiative, Mercure Iguazú Hotel Iru reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, animal welfare, and the community of Puerto Iguazú.

The project is aligned with Accor's Pet Friendly policy, which demonstrates its commitment to promoting a welcoming and pet-friendly environment in our hotels. We warmly welcome our guests' pets, offering them a comfortable and respectful stay.
