Within the framework of the 77th Ordinary Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA), Belize assumed the Pro Tempore Presidency of this regional body, consolidating its commitment to the integrated tourism promotion of the region.
During the second half of 2025, Belize will lead the implementation of the actions contemplated in CATA's regional promotion strategy, promoting initiatives that strengthen the visibility and competitiveness of Central America and the Dominican Republic as a single, diverse, and sustainable destination.
At this same meeting, member countries held a high-level exchange focused on coordinating efforts, aligning priorities, and consolidating progress in regional tourism integration.
This designation reaffirms Belize's leadership within the regional coordination process and its active role in promoting joint proposals that favor tourism development.
CATA is made up of the Ministries of Tourism of the Central American countries and the Dominican Republic, along with the Chambers of Tourism integrated into the Federation of Chambers of Tourism of Central America (FEDECATUR), working in a coordinated manner to position the region in international markets.
