The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Mexico Chapter and the Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (PromPerú) announced a strategic alliance with the goal of promoting Peru as a top-tier MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) destination among event organizers in Mexico.

This collaboration marks a milestone in Peru's international promotion in the meetings, conventions, and incentive travel sector and strengthens the commitment of both institutions to fostering trade, tourism, and professional exchange between the two countries.

Peru strengthens its presence in the Mexican MICE market. Thanks to this alliance, PromPerú will enhance its position in Mexico—one of its main source markets—through high-impact activities led by PCMA, one of the most influential global associations in the MICE sector.

Among the main actions contemplated by this synergy are:
● Seminars and educational sessions focused on Peru's MICE offering, its hotel infrastructure and convention centers, as well as destinations with high cultural and scenic value for hosting memorable events.
● Networking events to generate direct links between Mexico's leading event organizers and the Peruvian tourism value chain.
● Targeted marketing campaigns aimed at highlighting Peru's unique attributes: its historical legacy, award-winning cuisine, and geographic diversity as key differentiators in the selection of venues for international events.

David Hidalgo, president of the PCMA Mexico Chapter, celebrated the agreement and commented: “This alliance with PromPerú opens up new opportunities for our members and the MICE industry in general. Peru is a vibrant destination, with a growing infrastructure and unparalleled cultural offerings. We are confident that its more active presence in the Mexican market will drive more innovative and memorable events.”

For his part, Max Rodríguez, Director of PromPerú in Mexico, highlighted: "This strategic alliance between PROMPERÚ and PCMA is key to strengthening Peru's position as a top-tier MICE destination in the Mexican market. Commercial relationships with the main players in the meetings industry are crucial to showcasing all of our country's comparative and competitive advantages in terms of infrastructure, services, and overall facilities." A regional boost to meetings tourism, this alliance is projected to be a catalyst for the growth of meetings tourism in Latin America, encouraging more international events to be held in Peru, while also consolidating the commercial and tourism ties between Mexico and Peru.
