The numbers prove that Brazilians' interest in Peru is growing. In 2024, 184,725 visitors arrived from Brazil, representing a 41% increase compared to 2023, making our country the fifth largest source of tourists to the Peruvian market.
To help strengthen this relationship, PROMPERÚ, Peru’s tourism promotion agency, brought 18 Brazilian operators to participate in Peru Travel Mart 2025, the most important business event in the tourism sector in Peru. The event, organized by the National Chamber of Tourism of Peru (CANATUR) with the support of PROMPERÚ, was held from June 26 to 29 in Lima.
The experience was also extended to the cities of Cusco, Arequipa and Chachapoyas (Amazon region), where business meetings and famtours were held until July 3.
There are currently several options for Brazilian travelers who want to discover Peru: luxury tourism, MICE tourism, ecotourism, cultural tourism, experiential tourism and much more. Gastronomic tourism continues to grow, and Peruvian restaurants consistently appear in international rankings. In June 2025, Peru once again took first place on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, with Maido being chosen as the best in the world.
In addition to these unique experiences, there is excellent air connectivity between Brazil and Peru. There are 42 direct flights per week connecting Lima to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Porto Alegre and Curitiba. In addition, it has been announced that an air route to Florianópolis will be available from December. Another advantage is the short flight duration, which varies between four and a half and five hours, depending on the departure city.
“We are living in extraordinary times, with a growing demand from Brazilian tourists to Peru. We have been working hard to increase these numbers even further, and our collaboration with tour operators has been essential in this process, as they connect the destination with the best travel agencies in Brazil,” says Silvia Seperack, Economic and Commercial Advisor at PROMPERÚ in Brazil.
