Although recent DANE data reveal that inflation in Colombia continues to decline, with an annual variation of 4.82%, when comparing June 2025 and the same month in 2024, this does not represent an incentive for travelers seeking to explore the country.

This is because, while some products' prices decreased, in the case of tourism, the trend is different, with package prices increasing by 7.3%, 4.6 percentage points higher than the -4.8% reported for the same period last year. Passenger air travel prices increased by 4.3%, equivalent to 7.8 percentage points higher than the -7.8% reported for the same period last year.

"This trend can be attributed to an increase in demand due to the mid-season, potential increases in operating costs for travel agencies, rising fuel prices, and fare adjustments by airlines," explained Paula Cortés Calle, CEO of ANATO.

She added: "We are concerned that for consumers, the increase in these items could affect their travel decisions, testing the spending capacity of domestic and international travelers looking to travel within the country."
