Mexico City, July 10, 2025. To commemorate the global launch of Superman , Mexican airline Volaris, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures, unveiled a specially designed aircraft based on the iconic character from the DC Universe. This is the first aircraft in the Americas to feature an official image of the superhero, as part of a joint promotional strategy for the film.
The aircraft, an Airbus A321 with registration N542VL and capacity for 230 passengers, will carry the image of Superman for six months, flying across the skies of Mexico, the United States, Central and South America on the routes served by the company. This initiative marks a milestone for Volaris, which becomes the first airline in the country to partner with Warner Bros. to incorporate the image of Superman into the design of one of its fuselages.
From the moment they board, passengers will experience a unique experience aboard the Superman plane, including special activities and opportunities to win official merchandise and tickets to exclusive screenings. This action is part of a comprehensive marketing campaign developed around the new era of the DC cinematic universe, led by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The film, directed and written by Gunn, stars David Corenswet (Superman/Clark Kent), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), and Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor). The film combines action, humor, and an optimistic vision of humanity, values that, according to Volaris, reflect its brand focus on safety, trust, and memorable travel experiences.
The premiere of Superman marks the beginning of the revamped DC universe and is scheduled to be released exclusively in theaters beginning July 10.
