Air Canada announced today the expansion of its network for the 2025-2026 winter season with the resumption of nonstop flights to Lima, Peru, with two weekly flights from Montreal and two from Toronto. In addition, the airline is adding three new routes to Central America and Mexico: Montreal-Belize, Toronto-Puerto Escondido*, and Vancouver-Tepic, Riviera Nayarit*, strengthening its latest growth strategy in Latin America (website in English). Flights are now available for purchase at aircanada.com, Air Canada Reservations Centres, and through travel agents.
“Air Canada continues to diversify its global network this winter with its New Frontiers strategy, capitalizing on strong leisure travel demand to sought-after vacation destinations in South America, Central America, the Pacific coast, and Oaxaca, Mexico. These new routes are designed to provide seamless connections for both Canadian and European travelers, and also to capitalize on cargo opportunities in the region,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer and President, Cargo,
Air Canada.
“Passengers will have even more exciting options when planning their vacations this winter season. Whether they're looking to explore Peru's rich history and archaeological ruins, Belize's legendary reef, or discover Mexico's emerging destinations filled with adventure and hidden gems, Air Canada is proud to offer its passengers new and exciting destinations to explore. We look forward to welcoming them aboard our award-winning airline,” Galardo concluded.
Air Canada's new routes in Mexico open the door to some of the country's most sensational and under-explored vacation destinations. Puerto Escondido, located on Oaxaca's spectacular Pacific coast, is a laid-back surfing paradise, famous for its golden sand beaches and powerful waves. With direct flights from Toronto, this bohemian haven will now be within reach of Canadian travelers seeking authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences.
On Mexico's west coast, the new Tepic-Vancouver route will become an ideal gateway to the Riviera Nayarit at just the right time: a new highway connecting Tepic with Puerto Vallarta will be completed in October 2025. Several beachside tourist gems will be conveniently located from Tepic Airport, between 30 minutes and an hour by car: the artistic San Pancho; the surfing hotspot of Sayulita; and the exclusive resort of Punta Mita. This new option will allow travelers to discover the vibrant landscapes, pristine beaches, and cultural richness that make Nayarit one of Mexico's most fascinating regions.
During this winter season, Air Canada will offer more than 80,000 weekly seats across more than 55 daily flights to 52 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, representing the largest number of beach destinations in the airline's history.
