In the 2025 competition, Chile aims to retain its titles of Best Adventure Tourism Destination, Best Green Destination, Best Youth Destination, Best City (for the capital Santiago), and Best Romantic Destination (for the Atacama Desert), achievements it earned in 2024 and which reflect the country's work and commitment to developing sustainable, quality tourism.
For Undersecretary of Tourism Verónica Pardo, “these international recognitions not only highlight the beauty and diversity of our destinations, they also confirm that Chile is today a leading country in sustainable tourism, adventure, and unique experiences, which has earned us several consecutive awards in this prestigious award. 2024 was a historic year: more than 5.2 million foreign tourists visited us, and that speaks to the trust our offering generates. We invite everyone to vote for Chile and our nominated cities in the World Travel Awards. Winning again depends on you and is a concrete way to continue positioning our country at the top of global tourism.”
The World Travel Awards are recognized globally as the most prestigious awards in the travel industry, celebrating and rewarding excellence across all key sectors of travel, tourism, and hospitality.
Cristóbal Benítez, national director of Sernatur, explained that "last year's achievements demonstrate our country's potential and the efforts of all industry players. We invite Chileans, tourism professionals, and those who love our country to vote and be part of this important process that boosts our tourism globally. Winning again would attract a greater number of visitors and generate a significant impact on local economies."
