Santo Domingo, July 16, 2025. Dominican airline Arajet held the second international edition of its social responsibility program, "My First Flight," an initiative that fulfills the dream of air travel for people who haven't had the opportunity. This initiative allows them to experience other countries and cultures.

On this occasion, the airline facilitated a moving reunion between mother and son, allowing the young man of Dominican origin, Adrian Buret, to visit his mother's homeland for the first time and, most importantly, to reunite with her after seven years of not seeing each other.

Adrian and his mother, Eliana Sarmiento, enjoyed the beauty of Santo Domingo, including its historic Colonial Zone and other iconic landmarks.

The selection of Adrian, a New York City resident, was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Congressman Adriano Espaillat's office. Arajet requested assistance in identifying a Dominican who had never flown before, so he could travel by plane for the first time and visit his homeland with the airline.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet, expressed his joy at having been able to bridge the gap between a child of the diaspora and his mother through this reunion. He also emphasized that this initiative is part of the airline's mission and that it will continue to expand to all the destinations where it operates, so that those who dream of exploring a destination or reuniting with a loved one can make it a reality with Arajet.

For their part, Adrian and his mother thanked Arajet for making this special moment possible. “Thanks to Arajet, we are happy to see each other, hug each other, and discover how interesting Santo Domingo is,” said Adrian Buret.

This second international edition of the "My First Flight" program was supported by the Ministry of Tourism, the Renaissance Jaragua Hotel, and the Casarré restaurant, all of which contributed to making this an unforgettable experience for Adrian and his mother.
