Gastronomy can become a key added value within MICE tourism. In Costa Rica, local flavors, fresh ingredients, and a commitment to sustainability offer multiple possibilities for integrating culinary experiences into corporate agendas.

From informal breakfasts to closing dinners or socializing activities, Costa Rican cuisine allows you to combine the local with the functional. In the capital, for example, you can organize a visit to the San José Central Market as part of an urban experience, or plan a welcome dinner at a restaurant offering modern interpretations of traditional dishes.

Costa Rican cuisine includes dishes such as Gallo Pinto (a mixture of rice, beans, and vegetables), Olla de Carne (a stew with vegetables and meat), and Sopa de Mariscos (seafood soup) in coastal areas. These dishes can easily be incorporated into menus for events, themed coffee breaks, or group culinary experiences.

Coffee is another of the country's emblematic products. The destination produces exclusively high-quality Arabica coffee, and many coffee farms offer tours ideal for incentive activities or team building. During these visits, participants can learn about the entire process—from plant to cup—and even participate in tastings or workshops.

Furthermore, since 2015, the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) has promoted the National Plan for Sustainable and Healthy Gastronomy, with the goal of promoting the use of local plants, vegetables, and fruits in traditional recipes.

Ultimately, Costa Rica offers not only a well-equipped infrastructure for meetings and events, but also a culinary identity that adds value, authenticity, and cultural connection to any MICE experience.
