Dominican airline Arajet received its 11th aircraft, named "Loma Quita Espuela," in recognition of the company's commitment to environmental conservation and the promotion of the country's protected areas.

The new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft joins Arajet's modern and efficient fleet, consolidating its expansion plan and its vision of connecting the Dominican Republic with more international destinations, while promoting the Dominican Republic's natural heritage as part of its corporate social responsibility policy.

The welcoming ceremony, held at Las Américas International Airport (AILA), was led by Igor Rodríguez, director general of the Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC), who highlighted the importance of initiatives like this for the sustainable development of aviation.

"At IDAC, we applaud these types of actions that integrate environmental awareness into the core of the business model. Arajet is setting a standard in the region by combining air connectivity with ecological responsibility," said Rodríguez.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO and founder of Arajet, announced through his social media account that starting July 24, this new aircraft will be flying and connecting the Dominican Republic with the more than 26 destinations they serve in the Americas.

“Today we celebrate the arrival of our #11 aircraft: Loma Quita Espuela. And starting tomorrow, it will be flying to connect the Dominican Republic with the Americas,” he posted on the X network; he added that “Loma Quita Espuela is a scientific reserve located in the Northern Cordillera of the Dominican Republic, a place of great scenic beauty, a well-preserved primary forest, and of great importance to all cocoa production in the Dominican Republic.”

“Loma Quita Espuela” joins Arajet's fleet of aircraft named after Dominican protected areas as part of its social responsibility initiatives to raise awareness among both domestic and international passengers about the country's ecological wealth.

With this new addition, Arajet continues to position itself as the Dominican Republic's flagship airline, committed to operational efficiency, sustainable tourism, and national pride.
