Leading this movement is Angela Figueiredo, Director of Sales and Marketing, who spoke exclusively with Travel2Latam about the behind-the-scenes story of the hotel's repositioning, the challenges of retaining guests amidst a bold renovation, and the strategy for keeping the hotel among the best-rated in the capital.
Balancing work and hospitality
Renovating an operating hotel is, in itself, a major test of endurance and planning. For Angela Figueiredo, clear communication was key. "Undergoing a five-month renovation process in an operating hotel requires a delicate balance between executing the work and preserving the guest experience," she explains. Approximately US$2.4 million was invested to completely transform the lobby and bar, now renamed YPÊ Lobby Bar. The effort paid off: "We moved up more than 80 positions in the TripAdvisor rankings, placing the hotel among the top 20 in São Paulo in just over a year."
Global loyalty
In addition to modernizing its structure, Wyndham is leveraging the power of Wyndham Rewards, one of the most recognized loyalty programs in the world, with 115 million active members. "Our guests accumulate points from their first stay and can use them in different destinations around the world," says Figueiredo. For the corporate segment, consultative service makes all the difference. "Our team understands the needs of each company and offers tailored experiences for lodging, events, and groups."
Trendy convention center
Strategically located in Moema, just minutes from Congonhas Airport, the Wyndham São Paulo Ibirapuera has established itself as a venue for large gatherings. The convention center accommodates up to 1,300 people simultaneously and attracts events from the automotive and corporate sectors. "During weekdays, our occupancy rate often reaches 100%," highlights Angela.
Flavor that builds loyalty
The attention to detail extends beyond the lodging experience. The hotel's gastronomy, led by Simone Cezarino and chef Fabio dos Santos, continues to be a competitive differentiator. "Our team serves over 15,000 guests per month, from breakfast to the iconic feijoada on Saturdays, which has become a tradition not only for guests but also for the São Paulo public," says Angela Figueiredo. YVÁ Gastronomia reinforces this approach with a contemporary menu that combines business and leisure in a single space.
The strength of a desired asset
For investors, the Wyndham São Paulo Ibirapuera is more than a hotel: it's a strategic asset, combining a large convention center, high-end hospitality, and strong corporate appeal. "During the week, we're a hub for executives from around the world. On weekends, we transform into a welcoming environment for families and leisure travelers. This versatility is what makes our project so attractive," concludes Angela Figueiredo.
