Lima, July 2025 – Meliá Lima celebrated 25 years as a benchmark for hospitality in the capital, and it does so with a clear message: celebrating its anniversary by recognizing those who have made this story of sustained success possible: its employees.

Since its opening in 2000, the hotel has witnessed the transformation of the city and the country's tourism industry. Today, more than two decades later, Meliá Lima remains one of the most solid hotels in the Meliá Hotels International portfolio in South America, closing the first half of 2025 with above-expected results and with optimistic projections for the second half of the year.

“This anniversary is a source of pride and honor, especially for having a team of employees who, for the most part, have been with us for more than 15 years, while others are celebrating 25 years, just like Meliá Lima. Currently, more than 50% of the Meliá Lima team has been with the company for over a decade and a half. Some, like Alex Alvarado, Executive Chef of El Tambo Restaurant, have dedicated almost his entire career to the chain. Alvarado began his career in the kitchens of Meliá Lima, was promoted to the chain's hotels in Mexico, and, years later, returned to Peru to lead the hotel's flagship restaurant, making his mark at national and international gastronomic festivals.

The hotel's commitment goes beyond looking back. The outlook for the second half of the year is encouraging, and the chain is already working on new expansion projects in the capital and throughout the country.
