Colombia and Mexico are more connected: Avianca connects Monterrey with Bogotá and more than 80 destinations around the world for the first time

The direct route between Bogotá and Monterrey will begin operating on October 26th, and Avianca travelers will have four weekly flights

Avianca announced the launch of the first direct route to Monterrey, Mexico, from Bogotá, Colombia. With this operation, travelers will be able to connect between the two destinations starting October 26th with four weekly flights.

“Today we celebrate the opening of Monterrey as a new destination with direct connections to Bogotá, with which we will offer travelers more than 1,400 seats per week between the two destinations, adding to the eight international routes we already operate in Mexico,” said Frederico Pedreira, CEO of Avianca. “In the first half of 2025 alone, we transported more than 579,000 travelers to and from Mexico on more than 4,400 flights. With this new operation, we want to continue providing new connectivity opportunities for Mexicans to more than 80 destinations on our route network in the Americas and Europe,” he concluded.

Avianca currently has eight routes and 84 weekly frequencies connecting its customers to destinations in Mexico. With the launch of Monterrey as a new destination, this will increase to nine routes and 88 weekly frequencies.  

The routes to and from this country operated by Avianca are:

Between Colombia and Mexico1:  

From Bogotá to: Mexico City, Cancún and, since October, Monterrey.  

From Medellín to: Mexico City and Cancún.

Between Central America and Mexico:

From San José to Mexico City2.

From Guatemala City to Cancun3.

From San Salvador to: Mexico City4 and Cancun5.
