Artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a distant concept or the exclusive preserve of large technology companies. By 2025, it will be deeply integrated into our daily routines, changing the way we work, communicate, consume content, and take care of our health. According to data from Altindex, this year will see 378 million global AI users, a 20% growth compared to 2024, representing 65 million new users in just twelve months.
The United States leads this trend with more than 133 million users, accounting for a third of global growth. In Latin America, the most advanced countries in terms of adoption and readiness are Chile, Brazil, and Uruguay, while Colombia, Mexico, and Argentina are also showing significant acceleration, according to the Latin American Artificial Intelligence Index (ILIA 2024).
5 Ways AI Is Already Part of Your Life
The expansion of AI is reflected in increasingly everyday uses. Even without realizing it, millions of people already interact with intelligent systems every day. Some concrete examples include:
Virtual assistants: Platforms like ChatGPT, Google Assistant, Siri, or Alexa allow you to organize tasks, answer questions, control your home, or write messages.
Facial and image recognition: From unlocking devices to tagging photos on social media, AI interprets faces and scenes with great accuracy.
Recommendation systems: Services like Netflix, Spotify, and Amazon use AI to suggest content or products based on your habits.
Smart home: Thermostats, lights, and alarms learn your routines to optimize comfort and security.
Health and Diagnostics: AI helps with medical image analysis, early diagnosis, and personalized treatment plans.
In this context, the key is no longer to resist AI, but to learn how to integrate it strategically and responsibly. In the corporate world, its value is enhanced when combined with intelligent data management: protecting, analyzing, and using information ethically is what will make the difference for resilient organizations.
AI, yes, but responsibly.
At Veeam, we promote a conscious and safe approach to the use of artificial intelligence. Some key recommendations for proper use include:
Configure privacy and security settings on platforms properly.
Do not share sensitive information.
Use strong passwords and two-step authentication.
Disable histories whenever possible.
Check answers and links before trusting or interacting.
Implement cybersecurity best practices such as the Zero Trust model and automate incident response with AI.
Artificial intelligence is here to stay. Understanding its scope and adopting it responsibly will be the key step to harnessing its true potential, both in personal life and in business.
