The capital of the Colombian department of Boyacá, Tunja, yesterday hosted the presentation of the upcoming edition of Termatalia Colombia 2025 to the regional media. The sixth edition of the International Thermal Tourism, Health, and Wellness Fair in the Americas will be held in the Boyacá thermal baths municipality of Paipa from September 24 to 26. It is organized by Expourense with the support of local hosts, including Procolombia, the Government of Boyacá, the Mayor's Office of Paipa, and the Paipa Thermal Institute, and with the collaboration of
national entities such as Fontur (National Tourism Fund) and Cotelco (Colombian Hotel and Tourism Association).
The presentation of Tunja included the participation of the Governor of Boyacá, Carlos Amaya; the Mayor of Paipa, Germán Camacho; Martha Corredor, Executive Director of Cotelco-Boyacá; and the Managing Director of Expourense and Director of Termatalia, Rogelio Martínez. Termatalia Colombia 2025 will be a space to combine thermal resources,
innovation, sustainability, and culture. Its proposal focuses on three key areas: professional training, business opportunities, and strengthening relational capital.
The governor of Boyacá stated that "it is an honor for Boyacá and Paipa to be the epicenter of the most important international thermal event. No other place in Latin America brings together, in a single territory and across so many thermal floors, such an extraordinary diversity of hot springs as Boyacá. From Güicán, at 2,983 meters above sea level, to the healing waters of Zetaquira, 1,665 meters above sea level, our department offers Colombia and the world a unique experience for well-being, health, and sustainable tourism. In Boyacá, thermal tourism is experienced differently: with a diversity of landscapes associated with the location of the hot springs, gastronomy, and culture. Everyone is invited to enjoy this event."
For his part, architect Germán Ricardo Camacho Barrera, mayor of Paipa, once again expressed, "The privilege it represents for this municipality to host an international event like Termatalia. Hosting Termatalia in Paipa is a historic opportunity to showcase the world the potential of our hot springs, our culture, and our
hospitality. Therefore, the municipal administration is fully committed to ensuring this event is a resounding success and fulfills its purpose of promoting the sustainable development of health and wellness tourism in Colombia and Latin America," the mayor stated.
According to Rogelio Martínez, director of Termatalia, "The Country of Beauty" is already a complete tourist, fashion, and now thermal destination. "Paipa, Boyacá, and Procolombia, with the support of the Paipa Thermal Institute, presented a bid that meets all the requirements to make Termatalia Colombia one of the best editions of the fair in the Americas. It will surely be. For a few days, Boyacá will be the epicenter of thermal tourism, and it's an opportunity to position ourselves on the world map for this activity," he explained.
