Minas Gerais reaches a milestone in the transfer of resources to municipalities through the ICMS Turismo program. The state is preparing to inject a record R$90 million into the sector in 2025, with 605 municipalities eligible for the program. This amount represents a significant increase compared to the R$81 million transferred the previous year, demonstrating a growing commitment to establishing tourism as a pillar of development.
The initiative's growth, which reached the highest number of eligible municipalities in its history, is a direct reflection of the strengthening of the state's incentive policy. Every real invested directly boosts local economic growth, generating jobs and enhancing Minas Gerais' immense cultural and natural heritage.
The only state in the country to adopt this policy, Minas Gerais has established itself as an example of how strategic investment can boost tourism and drive local and regional development.
New horizons for the sector
The ICMS Tourism program also celebrates the entry of 30 new municipalities, with remarkable performance: 26 of them have already achieved maximum scores in their first assessment. This immediate success demonstrates the commitment and professionalism of municipal administrations, which are aligned with the state's guidelines for sustainable growth in the sector.
