ANATO's National Congress of Travel and Tourism Agencies continues to establish itself as the most important academic forum for the exchange of ideas and the creation of strategies to help drive the evolution and transformation of tourism in Colombia, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Fontur.
This event will host more than 1,000 business leaders, including Diana Marcela Morales, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism; and Lidio García, President of the Senate of the Republic; as well as national and international speakers and business leaders from travel agencies, hotels, airlines, assistance cards, and others. This makes this space an opportunity to interact with experts, authorities, and decision-makers to build the future of the sector. Therefore, panels with presidential candidates and members of Congress will also be held during the two-day event.
Over the past 10 years, there has been a growth of more than 100% in the number of industry participants, confirming that this event is a strategic platform for all stakeholders in the sector, opening the door to strengthening relationships among them, acquiring tools to innovate their products and services, and learning about new trends emerging around the world in tourism.
“Every year we see the growing interest and commitment of all those involved in the sector, as well as the growing recognition of the importance of the travel industry as a driver of progress for the country, as well as the recognition of the potential we still have to tap into responsibly and sustainably in our destinations,” said Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.
Without a doubt, the strength of Colombian tourism is sustained by the vision of its entrepreneurs. Proof of this is that historically, 60% of attendees at this event are travel and tourism agencies, operators, and hotels, which is essential for generating synergies and competitiveness for the sector in Colombia.
Therefore, for this year's edition, which will take place in Medellín on August 21 and 22, a comprehensive academic agenda was designed to address aspects of the digital environment and marketing, artificial intelligence, sales strategies, customer service, innovation, motivation, and leadership—topics that will directly impact the quality of the experiences travelers receive.
