Belo Horizonte, August 21, 2025 – Brazil is a priority market for Uruguayan tourism due to its volume and economic impact. In this context, the Ministry of Tourism held an official mission to the capital of the state of Minas Gerais.
The delegation included Cristian Pos, National Director of Tourism, and Paula Alves, from the Marketing Department of Mintur, accompanied by Dario Ávila, the Uruguayan Consul in the city. During the visit, meetings were held with municipal and state authorities to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation.
The meetings included a meeting with the Undersecretary of Tourism of Minas Gerais, Patricia Moreira, and the municipal tourism company Belotur. Among the topics discussed were strategic axes for tourism development, the possibility of implementing joint promotional actions in both destinations, and the shared interest in restoring direct air connectivity between Uruguay and Belo Horizonte.
The delegation also participated in the Travel Next trade fair, at the invitation of the Minas Gerais Tourism Secretariat, which allowed them to strengthen ties with key players in the sector.
At this meeting, the Ministry of Tourism reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the state of Minas Gerais, consolidating ties that contribute to the growth and diversification of tourism.
