Mexico City, August 18, 2025 – The head of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora , announced the publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) of the call to select the venue for the Tianguis Turístico México 2027 .
Interested state governments will have 30 calendar days from the effective date of the call to submit their proposals, meeting requirements such as facility capacity, air and land connectivity, tourism service offerings, local commitments, and complementary support.
Among the specifications, the venue must have exhibition areas of at least 25,000 m² column-free or 28,000 m² with columns , plus a minimum of 10,000 m² additional for operations . An international airport at the destination or within a radius of no more than 90 kilometers, as well as adequate road infrastructure, are also essential.
The selection process will be carried out by a Selection Committee chaired by the head of Sectur and composed of representatives from the National Fund for Tourism Development , business chambers, and national associations in the sector. This body will evaluate the suitability, competitiveness, social inclusion, and sustainability of each proposal and will issue a decision within 30 days of the closing date.
