Today marks the start of the first edition of Expedition MICE 2025, an initiative that seeks to strengthen meetings, incentives, conferences, and events tourism in Chile, consolidating the country as a strategic, competitive, and sustainable destination in the international market.

Through this initiative, whose motto is "Indomitable Spirit," representatives of companies specializing in comprehensive corporate event management, incentive agencies, and DMC agencies that offer comprehensive solutions for all types of events and corporate travel are getting to know different destinations in the country and the infrastructure they offer for the development of these activities.

On the opening day, Sernatur welcomed the delegation of 32 companies from Mexico, Brazil, the United States, Colombia, and Argentina. During the meeting, the institution's national director, Cristóbal Benítez, delivered an opening address highlighting the importance of this initiative for the national industry and reaffirmed the country's commitment to leading the MICE segment in Latin America.

“We are very excited to kick off this MICE Expedition, a unique event where we will embark on a week-long experience with more than 30 corporate travel, incentive travel, and association accounting firms. They will be touring our country, exploring emerging destinations in the north, the center, and the south, exploring the best we have to offer in terms of conferences and incentive travel, and finally, culminating in a major MICE tourism business roundtable. We hope it will be a success and will continue to strengthen conference and event tourism in our country,” said Benítez.

The Sernatur official also emphasized that "this is a unique opportunity to showcase the competitive advantages that Chile offers: first-class infrastructure, connectivity, specialized services, and an unparalleled diversity of natural settings for events, conferences, and incentive trips."

Esíritu Indómito: Expedition MICE 2025 Schedule
Between August 25 and 28, participants will experience familiarization trips that will allow them to discover emblematic destinations in the country: Casa Molle in the Coquimbo Region, Huilo-Huilo in the Los Ríos Region, as well as Santiago and Viña del Mar, to experience the infrastructure and tourism offerings that Chile offers to the MICE segment.

The experience will culminate on August 29 with a business roundtable in Santiago, where pre-scheduled meetings will be held to generate direct business opportunities, establish strategic alliances, and explore new collaborations.

Chile is now one of the region's leading event destinations, supported by its recent outstanding position in the ICCA 2024 ranking, where Santiago ranked third in the Americas and 33rd worldwide, surpassing major cities such as Bogotá, Lima, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, São Paulo, and Toronto.

With Expedition MICE 2025, the country takes a firm step toward strengthening meeting tourism, reaffirming its regional leadership and international reach.
