Using GRI standards as a reference and aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the document consolidates the organization's main advances and challenges in environmental, social and governance matters, integrating practices that generate value for employees, communities, guests, suppliers and investors throughout the region.

“Hospitality and sustainability are not isolated concepts; they are part of the same shared value model. This first report is a public commitment to preserving a healthy planet, protecting those most in need, and building a fair and possible future in every destination where we operate. We want to be a hotel company that not only delivers memorable experiences, but also exercises conscious leadership and generates a lasting positive impact,” said Andrés Fajardo, President of GHL Hoteles.

GHL's sustainability strategy is based on four fundamental pillars:
Responsible and Humane Tourism, which promotes an ethical management model that respects human rights; Climate Action, with measures to reduce the environmental footprint through energy efficiency, water management, and a circular economy;

Diversity and Inclusion, which promotes equitable, diverse, and discrimination-free work environments, and Education for All, which creates training opportunities for employees and communities through initiatives such as GHL Training School.

This last pillar reflects a people-centered corporate vision: today, 86% of the managers at the company's operated hotels have been trained internally. These are stories of bellboys, chambermaids, and receptionists who, thanks to their efforts and GHL's drive for talent, now lead some of the most iconic hotels in the portfolio. A living testament to the fact that sustainability begins with human development and that the organization's footprint is, and will continue to be, its people.

In 2024, the company achieved significant milestones, including LEED Gold certification for the Biohotel Organic Suites, the Blue Ecological Flag for the Sheraton San José, a 6.18% reduction in its carbon footprint, a 5.74% saving in water consumption and a 3.41% saving in energy consumption per guest, and the planting of 6,068 trees as part of the Oxygen Forest initiative. It also strengthened its job inclusion programs for vulnerable communities, migrants, and people with disabilities across various operations.

At the report presentation event, Bureau Veritas awarded 57 GHL operations international certifications under ISO 21401, ISO 45001, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), confirming the company's position as a regional benchmark in sustainability, workplace safety, and responsible tourism.

Looking to the future, GHL Hotels has set ambitious goals: to reduce and offset its carbon footprint per installed room by 15% by 2030 and by 30% by 2035; to recertify all its operations every three years; to train an average of 1,000 people annually through the GHL Training School; and to achieve 100% gender pay parity in equivalent positions by 2030.

These advances reflect the company's commitment to continue creating value throughout Latin America through memorable and sustainable experiences for its guests, employees, and partners.
