Colombia's air connectivity continues to grow. In July 2025, the country registered 1,607 direct international weekly flights, representing a 12.5% increase compared to the same month in 2024. This result continues to strengthen Colombia as a competitive hub in the region.
This dynamism in air connectivity is reflected in the growth in passenger traffic, as 32.6 million passengers were transported between January and July 2025, 2.3% more than in the same period of the previous year. This figure was driven by international traffic, which reached 14.2 million passengers, representing a 43.5% share of the total, an 8% increase compared to the previous year.
“In response to the growth in the arrival of foreign visitors to the country, Colombia reaffirms its commitment to continue expanding its international air network, thus consolidating its strategic role as a connecting destination in Latin America,” explained Paula Cortés Calle, Executive President of ANATO.
Currently, 27 airlines connect Colombia with 28 countries and 52 international cities, strengthening the arrival of tourists to new destinations and opening up opportunities for tourism and investment. In fact, between February and July 2025, routes have been opened to connect Bogotá with Brasilia, Córdoba, Dallas, and Tampa; between Cartagena and Mexico City; Medellín with Fort Lauderdale; and Cali with Mexico City.
While the country connects with 5,978 weekly frequencies through 61 cities across the country, in contrast to international traffic, domestic traffic registered a slight decrease of 2%, with 18.4 million passengers transported during the same period. "That's why it's essential to work on strategies that strengthen internal air connectivity with the country's different regions, promoting not only tourism in traditional destinations but also in those with a tourism vocation, which is a key factor in boosting local economic development," the union leader said.
