Mazatlan, Sinaloa will become the venue for the 43rd edition of the largest tourist event in Mexico, Tianguis Turístico, which will be held from April 14 to 18, which has been confirmed by a total of 54 countries representing our country.

Tianguis Turístico de México serves as the epicenter of the tourism sector by bringing together great personalities to discuss and negotiate on one of the most important issues for the country, tourism. The event will be inaugurated this Sunday by President Enrique Peña Nieto, who will be accompanied by the Secretary of Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid Cordero, and the General Director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Mexico, Hector Flores Santana.

As a historical event, this great event will bring together 19 governors from different states of the Mexican Republic, as well as prominent personalities from the sector such as Daniel Lamarre, President of Cirque du Soleil; Steve Wozniak, CO Founder of Apple Vacations, and Duke Parker, CEO of American Airlines.

"Four days after the inauguration of the Tourism Tianguis of Mexico we celebrated the registration of 204 national companies, 477 international and 1,100 buyers, in addition to 37,800 business appointments to date. Our expectation is that an economic flow of more than 350 million pesos and 100% of the destination's hotel occupancy will be generated. Undoubtedly, these figures reflect the interest of raising dialogue and negotiation on tourism by the entire industry, which will undoubtedly benefit our country, "said Hector Flores Santana.

"At the same time, we celebrate the confirmation of assistance from the main international issuing countries and tour operators from the United States, Canada, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and China," added Flores Santana.

The 2018 edition of Tianguis Turístico de México will bring together nearly 70 CEOs from the international tourism industry such as Air Canada Vacations, American Airlines Vacations, Apple Leisure Group, Canandes, Classic Vacations, Cruise Planners, Delta Vacations, Expedia, Flight Center, IASA , Sunwing, The Mark Travel Corporation, Transat, Trip Advisor, Virtuoso and West Jet, among others.

Among the outstanding topics to be discussed at Tianguis Turístico 2018 is the strategic impulse to the connectivity and diversification axes of tourist products in the country, therefore, a panel on connectivity will be carried out with the presence of international airlines from all over the world. world that will be chaired by the Secretary of Federal Tourism, Enrique de la Madrid, and the Secretary of Communications and Transportation, Gerardo Ruiz Esparza.

Within the framework of the Tourist Tianguis, the CPTM will promote the "Mundo Maya" program that positions the cultural heritage of Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Tabasco and Chiapas, destinations full of cultural richness, gastronomy, archaeological sites, fauna and natural areas. It is noteworthy that 47 of the 68 indigenous peoples of the country are in this region.

As part of the attractions of the Tourism Tianguis, also highlights the launch of 'Mexico in a Photo', in addition to the exhibition of the most valuable heritage of the country by the National Fund for the Promotion of Crafts (FONART).

It is worth mentioning that, during the inaugural act of this Sunday, an advance of 'Luzia' will be presented, a show inspired by Mexico as part of the agreement between Cirque du Soleil and Mexico that began in 2014, with the aim of enhancing the national culture to through the creativity of the circus.
