Pam Nicholson of Enterprise Holdings recognized among the best CEOs
The executive received the Glassdoor Employees' Choice Award, which recognizes the most outstanding CEO of 2018
The president and CEO of Enterprise Holdings Inc. Pam Nicholson received the Glassdoor Employees' Choice Award, which recognizes the best CEO of 2018. Glassdoor, one of the largest and fastest growing jobs in the world, published its annual report this week recognizing the best CEOs and highlighting the favorite leaders of US employees and the United Kingdom.
"Winning a Glassdoor Top CEO award is a true recognition of exceptional leadership, as it reflects the opinion of employees who work with a chief executive every day. I congratulate all the winners of this year for this significant achievement, "said Robert Hohman, co-founder and CEO of Glassdoor. "It can be a real recruiting advantage to have one of the best CEOs in front of a company that receives great support from its employees. The best CEOs are inspirational, trustworthy, innovative and can be great motivators for people to do their best when they go to work. "
Ms. Nicholson began her career as an apprentice manager in the Enterprise Manager Training program in 1981, after graduating from the University of Missouri. Approximately 20 years later, Nicholson agreed to serve as Chief Operating Officer. She was named president in 2008 and promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Holdings in 2013.
Enterprise Holdings operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand, as do the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, through its integrated global network of independent regional affiliate companies and franchises. These regional affiliate companies employ 100,000 people around the world.
Ms. Nicholson has trained her team to prioritize new ideas and innovation in all facets of the company. In fact, Enterprise announced several new initiatives during the last month, including:
Enterprise became a fleet management business partner for Voyage, a company that aims to develop autonomous automotive options for communities throughout North America.
The St. Louis Blues and Enterprise hockey team announced that they signed a building naming contract to rename the Blues headquarters to "Enterprise Center."
Enterprise CarShare is participating in a new program announced by the mayor of the city of New York last month. The city will dedicate 309 parking spaces to car sharing programs in more than a dozen neighborhoods in four municipal districts.
Ms. Nicholson is the woman with the highest position in the car rental industry and in the global travel industry, being named by Fortune magazine as one of the most powerful women entrepreneurs or MPW (for its acronym in English: Most Powerful Women) for the last 11 years. Below is what some current and former employees said about working under Ms. Nicholson's leadership:
"It was a great administrative experience, a lot of potential for promotion, great mentors."
"What attracted me to the company originally was the culture of promoting the employees themselves within the company. The same CEO started as assistant manager and all those in the highest administrative positions have previously held the position that you occupy at this time. "
"Very good benefits, competitive compensation, opportunities for promotion and best of all, people."
Employer No. 1 to Entry Level
Enterprise Holdings, a company that operates a network of 99,000 fully staffed offices located in neighborhoods and airports in more than 90 countries around the world, had total revenue growth of 6.5 percent to $ 22.3 billion in fiscal year 2017. To support this expansion, the Enterprise Rent-A-Car offices are looking to hire 8,500 graduates from US universities through its renowned Enterprise Management Training managers training program during 2018. And, for the first time, ties are not mandatory. Enterprise implemented a new, more flexible dress code this month, which aligns with the evolving work environment of the company and with the commitment it maintains with its employees. This change was made due to an order from the employees.
