The National Congress of the Hospitality and Expocotelco 2018 will have the participation of the President of the Republic, Iván Duque Márquez, who since his candidacy and participation in the Annual Meeting of Affiliates 2018, held in Neiva on March 15 and 16, has always demonstrated the importance of tourism for the development of the national economy, as well as its commitment to entrepreneurs to make tourism "the new Colombian oil".
Next to the President will be the Vice Minister of Tourism Juan Pablo Franky, and regional authorities such as the Governor of Risaralda Sigifredo Salazar and the Mayor of Pereira Juan Pablo Gallo, who will accompany the President of Cotelco Gustavo Adolfo Toro Velásquez at the opening ceremony of the Congress. In this space the Cotelco 2018 awards will be presented: the medal of merit, the recognition of a lifetime and the great star of the private sector.
During the first day there will also be two conferences by Jimmy Pons and Fernando Molina, international experts from the IMF Business School in Spain, while on Friday, October 19, the academic agenda will continue with talks by Javier Jiménez, Juan Carlos Cubeiro, Giselle Della Mea and Víctor Mayans, who will address issues such as marketing of hotel services, challenges for the future of the hotel industry, sustainable business models and guest experience.
The event will be closed in the company of the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism José Manuel Restrepo at the Expofuturo Convention Center in the city of Pereira. Cotelco expects to receive more than 2,000 people, among which are presidents of hotel chains, managers, representatives of unions, suppliers, academics, leaders of the public - private sector, among others.
Simultaneously, Expocotelco will be held, the largest trade fair in the hospitality sector, which will be attended by human resources managers, purchasing managers, food and beverage managers, maintenance managers, security chiefs, chefs and housewives. of keys, who will have a networking space.
