Aeroméxico began operating the flight between CDMX and Liberia, Costa Rica
The creation of this airlift will enhance the connectivity of the Central American destination with all the connections offered by the Mexican airline in the United States, Asia and Europe
Aeroméxico, the flagship airline of Mexico, began operating this Saturday the seasonal route Liberia-Mexico City, which will be enabled until April 21, 2019.
The start of these flights, operated with Embraer 190 equipment and capacity for 99 passengers, occurred with the departure of the Aeromexico aircraft from the Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport to the Mexican capital.
Liberia thus becomes the second destination of the airline in Costa Rica, after the Juan Santamaría International Airport that was integrated more than 8 years ago.
During the opening activity of this new route, Paul Verhagen, Director of International Sales of Aeromexico, commented that "Costa Rica is a country full of opportunities that has become an increasingly closer partner for Mexico".
He added that "after the United States, Mexico is the second nation in the Americas that most invests in Costa Rica."
There are more than 35 companies with Mexican capital operating in our country. "We are sure that the creation of this airlift will benefit both nations, in addition to increasing its tourist and cultural exchange," said the Aeromexico official.
Hermes Navarro, chief of attraction of investments of the ICT, assured that with the arrival of this new flight will increase the air connectivity not only with Mexico but with all the connections that Aeromexico has towards the United States, Asia and Europe.
In his opinion, this is a tangible example of the efforts made in the ICT attraction program.
"We are very pleased with the official opening of this new route to Daniel Oduber International Airport. This is an achievement of the joint work of CATURGUA, CORIPORT and the ICT, promoting the tourist linkages of small and medium-sized companies, as well as Costa Rican families living on tourism, "concluded Navarro.
"We are sure that the tourists that visit us will get the best impression of Guanacaste as we have great respect for this nation. We continue with the work of attracting flights and this is a good time to celebrate that we continue to grow, "said César Jaramillo, General Manager of CORIPORT, the airport's concessionaire.
In the last decade, visitation from Mexico increased considerably. At the end of 2017, more than 100 thousand Mexicans were reported, which shows the interest of this market in knowing our tourist offer.
According to ICT studies, more than 53% of Mexican tourists decide to visit Costa Rica to enjoy the sun and the beach, observe flora and fauna, approach local gastronomy, visit volcanoes, among others, precisely activities that can be enjoyed in the province of Guanacaste
With this, Aeromexico not only strengthens its international connectivity network, but also its presence in Central America; It also reinforces its commitment to offer its customers more and better options with a quality product.
