The day was held in the department of Canelones, in the Varela Zarranz winery, and was attended by the Ministry of Tourism, Liliam Kechichian, the sub-secretary, Benjamin Liberoff, the general director, Hyara Rodríguez, and the director national, Carlos Fagetti.
The event gathers all the directors of Tourism of the departmental intendancies, and its main objective is to make a fine-tuning of the works is the regional key that carry out the departments.
In the morning, the tourist regions presented strategic lines aimed at promotion during the summer season 2018-2019. In this plan, Destino Centro Sur described its strengths for the season, highlighting rural tourism, traditional festivals, important events and the incorporation of the "mobile office".
The Corredor de los Pájaros Pintados emphasized the nautical, musical and cultural activities. The regional team, which works with a group of communication leaders, highlighted the joint work in terms of promotion in social networks and web page.
The metropolitan area presented its main attractions and novelties, such as new screens with tourist information to be placed in several strategic sites in Montevideo, and the promotional videos of Canelones on its new APP, where visitors can learn about destinations and services.
The Eastern Region presented the variety of activities of each department for the summer, among which ecotourism proposals, festivals, and a great diversity of beaches are included.
The North of the country exposed the strategic lines to work with both domestic and foreign public. The Artigas carnival, Rivera Brilla in December, and the promotional efforts destined for the Gau Patria stand out.

Fagetti highlighted the efforts made for the preparation of a new National Tourism Plan, with horizon towards 2030, the educational days that have taken place, such as "Tourism is Studied", "Ideas that Travel" and the "Tourist Coffee" ", activities organized in coordination with educational institutions, through the Educational System Group, and the Business Rounds linked to the rural sector, in order to integrate private operators, strengthening services and offer.
