Bariloche expects to receive more than 100,000 tourists in January
2019 arrived with a great influx of tourists to the Patagonian city, which due to the large hotel occupancy and variety of air connectivities, among other benefits, hopes to continue adding visitors
After living the best winter season in the last 10 years, Bariloche promises to add another record for the summer cycle. Thanks to the wide connectivity and air supply these first days of January, the Patagonian city was filled with national and international tourists.
Taking into account the records of previous seasons and also the exchange rate, it is expected for January an income greater than 100,000 tourists with an average stay of 6 nights, which is 15% higher than the summer 2018.
"We hope to have peaks of almost 90% occupancy in January, with our traditional tourism from Argentina, and this year with a higher percentage of foreigners," said Bariloche Tourism Secretary, Gastón Burlon. And he also referred to the phenomenon of foreign tourists who has residents and traders surprised, "We associate it with several factors, such as the economic situation and the greater offer of air connectivity."
"Most are groups of friends, young people from the United States and Europe, with a marked profile of tourism in nature and hiking," they say in one of the main breweries of the place. But what many highlighted is the large number of Brazilian tourists, who usually visit the city of Río Negro in winter, but this year they chose to do so in summer.
Colonia Suiza is chosen by the majority of foreign visitors who decide to vacation adventurously. There they find a portfolio of activities such as traditional mountain trails, craft fair, camping, craft beer and even some shows.
On the other hand, a factor that particularly attracts national tourism, is the 20% reduction in fuel, "It is an important discount, which in summer acquires greater relevance as we have many visits of families in private vehicles that travel the region. And this reduction helps a lot in the total cost of the holidays "clarifies Burlon.
Bariloche in summer attracts all ages and types of tourism. Families from all over the country and the region choose more and more to relax and tour the center of the city at dusk, or visit the beer district formed a few years ago by the traditional Club Andino. In addition to enjoying the postcards that the lakes and mountains give every day.
The authorities also point out that a 95% occupancy is expected for the four and five star hotels for the first month of the year in Bariloche and that the rest would exceed 85%.
