Uruguay bets to attract tourism with international gastronomy of first level
This 18th and 19th of January, the South American destination will host some of the most respected chefs in the world and creator of the Spago restaurants in Los Angeles (two Michelin stars) and CUT of Beverly Hills (one Michelin star)
Wolfgang Puck arrives for the first time in South America at the invitation of Francis Mallmann, the famous Patagonian chef and who is in charge of the emblematic restaurant Garzón.
Puck is not only recognized for his excellent cuisine, but he is also the chef chosen for the Oscar Awards Gala Dinner. In addition, he is sworn in Top Chef, Master Chef and Hell's Kitchen of the United States television and has his own program called Cooking Class with Wolfgang Puck.
On January 18 at Bodega Garzón, located in the department of Maldonado, Puck will serve the menu of Spago, his most famous restaurant for 80 people. He will also be on January 19 at the Restaurant & Hotel Garzón, where Mallmann opens his kitchen for his colleague Wolfgang Puck and his team. Those interested can make their reservation via telephone for this mystical culinary experience.
Bodega Garzón is located a few kilometers from the town of Garzón, in the department of Maldonado, just over two hours by land from Montevideo, and just over an hour from Punta del Este. This area of the country is known for its wine production and for its attractive wine tourism in the vineyards.
It should be noted that Bodega Garzón was recently recognized by Wine Enthusiast magazine, specialized in the wine sector, with the award for Best New World Winery 2018.
