Yesterday, a new edition of the CHTA Marketplace closed with great success. After a hectic second day of business at the Montego Bay Convention Center, the event culminated with an unforgettable party at Sandals Montego Bay where those present enjoyed local music and exquisite cuisine. The Minister of Tourism of Jamaica, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett, thanked those present for visiting his country.
CHTA Marketplace had delegations from more than 20 countries including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, India, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Poland, Puerto Rico, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. In addition, for the first time in the history of the Caribbean Travel Marketplace, the CHTA also hosted a large contingent of travel buyers from China.
"I am very honored to spend time with our colleagues and friends in the international tourism sector this week," said Minister Bartlett. "Tourism is vital to the economy of Jamaica, the Caribbean and the global economy."
"We are very pleased to have had this opportunity, as hosts of the Caribbean Travel Marketplace, to showcase the many wonderful natural, social, economic and cultural resources Jamaica has to offer."
Within the framework of CHTA Marketplace the event included the presentation of the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre, the World Travel Awards Gala for the Caribbean and North America 2019 and the Global Conference on Jobs and Inclusive Growth.
