Of the 7,220,334 passengers (residents and non-residents) who arrived by air to the Dominican Republic in 2018, the hotels accommodated a total of 5,309,696 of these, so 1,910,638 were accommodated in various options such as family, friends, apartment rentals and / or home through Airbnb and small hotels that are not registered in the corresponding hotel associations.

A fact to be highlighted in the statistics prepared by the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) is that the segment of people aged 21-35 years, arrived in the country a total of 2,533,749 passengers, remaining as the largest amount, compared to to segments of people over 50 years of age and over with 2,022,380 passengers, with these segments being the only ones to exceed the figure of two million. It is followed by the segment of 36 -49 years old (1,607,138); 13 -20 years (619,469) and 0 -12 years with 437,598 passengers.
