Tourist arrivals increase in January 2019 in the Dominican Republic
The USA with 184942 visitors, leads the issuing markets, followed by Canada with 127873 and France with 25033
The Dominican Republic registers an increase in the arrival of tourists in the first month of 2019 in relation to January 2018, a month in which, in relation to 2017, there was an increase in the arrival of tourists, according to the information collected by Infotur Dominicano and part of the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) and the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur).
In that sense, the Caribbean nation, received in January 2019, a total of 598,198 non-resident tourists. Of these, a total of 522,632 are foreigners and 75,566 correspond to Dominicans living abroad in 2019
In this way the Dominican Republic received 31,401 additional tourists in this first month when comparing the figure with the 566,797 tourists who arrived in January 2018, as we mentioned earlier month also exceeded the figures of January 2017, when 545,627 tourists entered.
The US with 184,942 tourists, leads the issuing markets, followed by Canada with 127,873 and France with 25,033, the latter leading the European market, seconded by Russia with 24,625; Germany 18,430; England 10,325; Spain 9,863 and Italy with 9,084 tourists.
While the Latin American market has been led by Argentina with 19,102 tourists, followed by Brazil with 10,599; Colombia with 10,523 and Chile with 9,693 tourists.
