Guatemala and El Salvador, leading countries for the ANATO Tourist Showcase

The ANATO Tourist Showcase is the most important tourism event in Colombia, it is the stage where the whole industry opens up to the world to present an important offer of products and services of national and international businessmen. Therefore, we want, through the commercial contacts made in the Tourist Showcase, there is a greater offer of products that allow more national travelers to know these places, "said Paula Cortés Calle, executive president of ANATO.
The trade union leader added that some of the aspects that motivate national tourists to choose Guatemala and El Salvador as a vacation destination, are related to the visa exemption to enter these countries, the language, as well as the air connection with Colombia, taking into account that there are currently 36 frequencies between Colombia and Guatemala and 7, with El Salvador.

According to the Civil Aeronautics, in 2018, there were a total of 167,215 international passengers between Colombia, El Salvador and Guatemala, that is, an increase of 9% compared to 2017, distributed as follows: 93,622 international passengers for El Salvador, with a variation of 10.5% and 73,593 international passengers for Guatemala, with an increase of 7.14%.
It should be noted that in the BOG-SAL-BOG route, in 2018 an occupation of 79.09% was reported (4.81 percentage points more than in 2017); while in the BOG-GUA-BOG route, the occupation was 77.75%, (2.05 percentage points more than in 2017)
Likewise, Migración Colombia shows that a total of 53,861 visitors from these two Central American countries were registered. These figures translate into a positive increase for both, since there were 29,081 arrivals from El Salvador and 24,780 from Guatemala, which represents a growth of 4.8% and 7.8% compared to the total of 2017 respectively.
In turn, it is important to note that last year had the highest number of Salvadoran and Guatemalan visitors to Colombia since 2015, consolidating a positive trend that is reflected in an average growth of 9.2% for both States, in the period 2015-2018.
It is noted that the main reason for entry was tourism, with a percentage of 60%, while Business and Labor occupies the second category with a participation of 20%, which is higher than the average registered in other countries, which makes These two destinations are a key ally of business in Colombia.
