General Manager of the CCCR becomes the first tico certified by AIPC

In Belgium, the Costa Rica Convention Center continues to make inroads into the meetings industry. On this occasion, its General Manager representing the country shared with more than 40 managers and leaders from other world venues, being certified by AIPC.
The AIPC Academy is the only professional development program that comprehensively meets the needs of the managers of international convention centers. It has been designed to address the critical need of the centers and that they maintain fully qualified personnel in a highly competitive industry. In addition, it provides a specific and profitable forum for training and development through interaction with other venues and a highly experienced teacher and leader in this market.
"This step is important not only at the professional level but also because within our strategic plan is to become an AIPC-certified facility to give the CCCR the global quality we aspire to," said Alvaro Rojas, General Manager.
Mr. Rojas is part of the management team of Grupo Heroica and has more than 15 years of experience in hotels and convention centers; A year ago, he took on the challenge of leading Costa Rica on its way to having its first Convention Center and that this attracts the attention of the world of meetings.
The Convention Center of Costa Rica is located in Barreal de Heredia, which opened on April 5 after an investment of $ 35 million.
The complex has 5,600 square meters and capacity to accommodate up to 5,600 people in all its rooms. It is a building of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, managed by the private company Grupo Heroica Volio y Trejos.
It is a trade fair center with versatile spaces for events from 10 to 4000 people in plenary and 1000 parking spaces. In its 10 hectares has 3 rooms of different dimensions divisible in several areas, six meeting rooms, press room, a VIP room, kitchen area and other spaces.
