The ibis hotel arrives in Ecuador
Reaffirming the commitment to expand, AccorHotels brings another brand to the Andean country
The AccorHotels Group made the inauguration of its first ibis in Quito on January 16. Created in 1974, ibis was the first economic brand to make comfortable and quality hotels accessible to all.
With more than 1000 hotels globally (145 in South America), ibis is a contemporary design brand with a passionate spirit for music.
The aim of ibis hotels is to become a meeting point for both travelers and the local community, delivering the service of a global brand, at a price at a convenient price and with a current concept. The ibis Quito has 151 rooms and is located in Diego de Almagro and Bello Horizonte streets. The investment amount for this complex, which began construction in 2015, was USD 10 million by Ecuaresorts S.A.
"Quito concentrates a large number of people who frequent the city to do business, for pleasure or tourism. For this reason we bet on the north center, an area with excellent connectivity, close to
the financial, commercial and corporate heart of the capital, and a few steps away from tourist places, universities and public institutions, "said Franck Prouvost COO Economic & Midscale AccorHotels Group - South America, Hispanic Countries.
In addition, the representative of ibis added that the location was chosen on the basis of a study conducted in which 29% of respondents preferred hotels in the northern area of Quito; 23% in the center; and 16% near the park of La Carolina.
The entrance of the hotel giant AccorHotels, through ibis, marks a milestone in the tourist and hotel sector of Ecuador, by presenting a quality offer, with the guarantee of its 45 years of experience. Additionally, its affordable price stands out since the project points to a segment that is looking for economic options and that has been outside the magnifying glass of the national offer.
In the 8,300 square meters of construction distributed in nine floors visitors can find the latest trend in hotel service. Among the novelties is its restaurant with the revolutionary concept ibis Kitchen (initiative that presents a modern and relaxed atmosphere, together with an affordable and tasty menu). A relevant piece of information about its facilities is the furniture, Sweet Bed by ibis, for example, it is a bed designed by researchers to provide a better rest and the 15 minute mission project where the team of ibis hotels proposes to solve problems and make clients smile again in up to 15 minutes.
Designed for those people who do not depend on schedules, another feature of Ibis is the option to register 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Pruvost added that the hotel is oriented not only to Ecuadorian visitors who arrive mainly from Guayaquil, Cuenca and Manta; but also to the international market. "Colombia represents 21% of visitors, Venezuela 18% and the United States 15%, so we are prepared to attend all the profiles of the different issuing markets."
Ibis Quito is expected to be the first of ten hotels to be built in other cities of the country reaffirming the expansion project in Ecuador.
